Terms of the Championship Tournament

  • 1. Introduction

    The Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team DREAM CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 (hereinafter referred to as "the Tournament") will be held by KLab Inc. and will be run by KLab Inc. and the companies that it hires will comprise the Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team Dream Championship Organiser (hereinafter referred to as "the Organiser"). By reading the following Terms of the Tournament (hereinafter referred to as "the TOT"), the participant is acknowledging their consent upon entering the Tournament.

  • 2. Entry Qualifications

    Meeting all of the following requirements qualifies you to participate in the Tournament:

    • 1- You agree to the TOT.
    • 2- You are 18 years or older at the time of JST 1/9/2023.
    • 3- You are able to be contacted by the Organiser continuously throughout the Tournament, from September to November 2023.
    • 4- You are able to participate in the Online Final Regional Qualifier and the Online Final Tournament.
    • 5- You have a Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team account (not suspended or cancelled during the Tournament) that enables you to participate in the Tournament, and a device.B7
    • 6- You have not been prohibited from participating in the Tournament by the Organiser (includes punishment for violations of the TOT).
    • 7- You are able to communicate in Japanese, English, French, Arabic, Chinese (Traditional Chinese), Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, or Thai.
    • 8- You are not a member or a relative of the Organiser.
    • 9- You will not participate in banned behaviours.
    • 10- You will not enter the Tournament with an offensive user name.
    • 11- You maintain a Discord account as a means of communication when you advance to the Final Region Qualifier or the Final Tournament, and are a member of the Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team official Discord channel (https://discord.gg/6tyEs48).
    • 12- You stay logged in to the Discord channel specified by the Organiser and are able to be contacted throughout the tournament.
    • 13- Your Discord icon image may be used as your icon in broadcasts and other media, so you must be able to license its use to that extent and such use must not infringe the rights of a third party.
    • 14- Those participants who have the stipulated achievements in the following tournament will be able to appear in the Final Tournament of this championship.

  • 3. Revocation of Entry Qualifications

    In the following cases, the Organiser can revoke your entry qualifications even after you have entered the Tournament.

    • 1- If the Organiser decides that you have violated the TOT.
    • 2- If an entrant engages in anti-social behaviour, behaviour that falls within the scope of anti-social influence, or is involved with anti-social influences.
    • 3- Otherwise, if the Organiser decides that the participation of the entrant is not appropriate.
  • 4. About Recordings or Press Reports during the Tournament

    Players appearing in the Final Region Qualifier and Final Tournament held online (hereinafter referred to as "the Participating Players") must agree to each of the following items.

    • 1- Personal information (game information such as your full name, player name, etc. as well as player pictures and comments may be used on the website produced by management, for tournament publicity material, news and information media, in the application, and in broadcasts this year and into the future.
    • 2- In connection with the Tournament, printed materials and video produced by the Organiser in addition to news and information media will be used for commercial purposes.
    • 3- Participating players will appear in interviews when instructed to by the Organiser.
    • 4- During the tournament Organiser will post recordings (in-app gameplay videos, etc.) and interview recordings at a later date on a website created by the Organiser, video streaming services, events, etc., or otherwise broadcast such contents over the internet.
    • 5- The Organiser will film the Tournament (images in the application and video of appearing players' game play) and those recordings will be displayed in the internet broadcast as well as at a later date on the website produced by the Organiser, and on television.
    • 6- Provide the Organiser with personal information such as your full name, age, and address.
    • 7- You will not claim portrait rights or rights related to privacy. Participants will not claim portrait or publicity rights for the participant personal information used by management as established in 4.1 and 4.5.
    • 8- Participating players can choose whether or not to show their face. Please contact the Organiser when appearing in the Final Regional Qualifier and Final Tournament.
    • 9- You will follow the Organiser's instructions and guidance in the Tournament, and will not engage in behaviour that bothers other participants or regular users or act in a distasteful manner.

    The Organiser will run the Tournament based on the rules stipulated in the TOT and in KLab Inc.'s Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as the TOU) and rules for Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team. In addition, the Organiser reserves the right to make a decision in the event that a situation not stipulated in the aforementioned rules arises, or if the application of said rules results in significant unfairness.

  • 5. Handling Personal Information

    - Regarding personal information of entrants into the tournament, the Organiser will follow the laws and guidelines of the competent authorities regarding the protection of personal information and will handle that information properly and accordingly.

    Also, any personal information received will only be used for the provision, opening and running of the Tournament (including related arrangements, etc.), and for contact with the participants associated with this event, as well as the items specified in 4.1 and 4.5 above.

    Acquired personal data: Full name, age, email address, address, postal code, phone number, game ID, Discord ID
    Purpose of use: To provide services and send prizes for the Tournament.
    Legal grounds for GDPR: Legitimate interests and fulfilment of the contract.

    Players appearing in the Final Region Qualifier and the Final Tournament will decide their user name (hereinafter referred to as registered name) when participation in the Final Region Qualifier is confirmed.
    The registered name will also be used for all online events and in-app leader boards during the tournament.

  • 6. Tournament Rules

    Play Environment - Client
    Matches will be held using the latest version of Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team distributed by KLab Inc. on the App Store/Google Play/HUAWEI App Gallery.

    This tournament will have Online Qualifiers and Final Regional Qualifier.

    Online Qualifiers

    [Schedule]

    Online Qualifiers will be held at the following dates and times. (All times are in Japan Standard Time)

    • Entries: From 8/9 (Fri.) after the maintenance until 15/9 (Fri.) 13:59 JST
    • Round 1: From 15/9 (Fri.) after the maintenance until 22/9 (Fri.) 13:59 JST
    • Round 2: From 22/9 (Fri.) after the maintenance until 29/9 (Fri.) 13:59 JST
    • Round 3: From 29/9 (Fri.) after the maintenance until 6/10 (Fri.) 13:59 JST

    * Only users who enter during the entry period can participate in Online Qualifiers Round 1.
    * Only users who place 1st in each group (all 1st place players if there are more than one) in Online Qualifiers Round 1 can participate in Round 2.
    * Only users who place 1st in each group (all 1st place players if there are more than one) in Online Qualifiers Round 2 can participate in Round 3.

    [Online Qualifiers Match Format]
    • 1- There is no restriction to Total Power during a match.
    • 2- There is no limit on the maximum level of Special Skills.
    • 3- There is no restriction on player level or rarity.
    • 4- There are no restrictions on player positions.
    • 5- EX Formation effects are ineffective.
    • 6- Club Effects are ineffective.
    • 7- Players who behave against the TOT or in violation of public order or morality will be barred or disqualified from the Tournament. (The Organiser will make the final decision.)
    • 8- Giving goals to your opponent or other prohibited behavior can result in disqualification from the DREAM CHAMPIONSHIP or forfeiture of your player account.
    • 9- The matches will have 45-minute halves.
    • 10- Matches that aren't decided even after overtime will be called a draw.
    • 11- Participating Players will use their own devices and networks.
    • 12- Matches may be ruled invalid if the connection is interrupted by equipment or network issues before finalization of match results.
    [About the 1st Place Players in Each Group of Round 3]

    The 1st place player in each Online Qualifiers Round 3 group (8 from each of the 3 regions, 24 total) will be allowed to participate in the Final Regional Qualifiers.

    [Transfer of Participation Rights for Final Regional Qualifiers]
    • -If a competitor who had participation rights for the Final Regional Qualifiers states their intention to withdraw, becomes unavailable for contact or is otherwise found to be unable to participate by the Organiser, the participation rights will be transferred to the next player of their Group with the highest ranking.
    • -If the Organiser is unable to confirm a competitor's participation by 3 days prior to the event (JST), the matches for that slot will be treated as lost by forfeit.

    Final Regional Qualifiers

    [Final Region Qualifier Match Format]
    • 1-The Tournament will be single elimination.
    • 2- There will be a third place playoff for 3rd place in each tournament.
    • 3- The 5th place of each tournament will be decided with a single elimination tournament of only the 4 players eliminated in the first match. (Wildcard bracket)
    • 4- This will be a tournament with all matches held using Group Matches in Online Mode.
    • 5- There is no restriction to the Total Power during a match.
    • 6- There is no limit on the maximum level of Special Skills.
    • 7- There are no restrictions on player level or rarity.
    • 8- There are no restrictions on player positions.
    • 9- EX Formations effects are ineffective.
    • 10- Club Effects are ineffective.
    • 11- If there is still a draw after overtime, the match will be decided by a penalty shoot-out.
    • 12- Players who behave against the TOT or in violation of public order or morality will be barred or disqualified from the Tournament. (The Organiser will make the final decision.)
    • 13- If a match is stopped due to an issue with connection, the resume function will be used to restart the match.
    • 14- The resume function can be used up to 5 minutes after disconnection.
    • 15- If the match is unable to be restarted using the resume function mentioned above, it will be decided using the following regulations.
      • 15.1- If the connection interruption occurs during the first half, there will be a rematch regardless of the score.
      • 15.2- If the connection interruption occurs during the second half, there will be a rematch if there is a draw or a goal deficit of only one.
      • 15.3- If the connection interruption occurs in the second half, the player with a lead of 2 goals or more will be the winner.
      • 15.4- If a player is unable to re-establish connection within 10 minutes after disconnection, the disconnected player will be declared the loser.
      • 15.5 Neither player may make Edit Team changes (Starting Members, Reserves, Bond Deck players) in the event of a rematch. Cases of Edit Team changes on a rematch will result in a loss regardless of whether they were done before or after it.
    • 16- The Participating Player who causes an interruption during a match will lose as a rule.
    • 17- Participating Players will use their own devices and networks.
    • 18- Players can turn the Manual Controls During Defence setting on or off before matches.
    [About the top 5 players of the Final Regional Qualifier from each region]

    The top 5 players of each Final Qualifier (a total of 15 from 3 regions) will be allowed to participate in the Final Tournament.

    [Transfer of Participation Rights for Final Tournament]

    -Previous Year's Champion
    If the previous year's champion withdraws from participation, the previous year's 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place player will be granted the champion's position, in that order. If the 2nd through 4th place players withdraw, become unavailable for contact or are otherwise found to be unable to participate by the Organiser, the matches for that slot will be treated as lost by forfeit.

    If the Organiser is unable to confirm a competitor's participation by roughly 1 week prior to the event (JST), the matches for that slot will be treated as lost by forfeit.

    -Final Regional Qualifier Winners
    If the Organiser receives word of withdrawal from a Final Regional Qualifier winner or determines the player will be unable to participate for other reasons, the 6th place player in their regional qualifier group will participate.

    If the Organiser receives word of withdrawal from the 6th place player or determines the player will be unable to participate for other reasons, or is unable to confirm their participation by the final confirmation roughly 1 week (JST) prior to the Final Tournament, their matches will be treated as lost by forfeit.

    • Day 1: 18/11/2023 (Sat.) 16:30 ~ 22:35 JST
    • Day 2: 19/11/2023 (Sun.) 17:00 ~ 22:00 JST

    • 1- Tournaments will be held in a double elimination format (with third-place playoffs).
    • 2- Only players released in the application until November 3, 2023 can be used.

    Other rules will confirm to 4. and onward under [Final Regional Qualifier Match Format].

  • 7. Prohibited Behavior

    • 1- Violating the rules of the Tournament.
    • 2- Not following the instruction of the Organiser.
    • 3- False statements during application and/or registration.
    • 4- Social media posts which amount to harassment; posts of a hateful or violent nature.
    • 5- Participating in indecent or obscene behaviors, political, or religious activities during the tournament.
    • 6- Transferring the right to participate in the match to a third party.
    • 7- A person other than the owner of an account pretending to be the owner of that account and playing.
    • 8- Exploitation of an in-game issue.
    • 9- Having an indecent or obscene player name.
    • 10- Violating the TOU defined by KLab Inc. for Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team.
    • 11- Participating in the Tournament while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • 8. Penalty

    - The Organiser reserves the right to penalize any participant by deciding the result of a match or nullifying their right to participate if found in violation of TOT.

  • 9. About Prizes

    • - In-game item prizes are sent directly to your Present Box. Note that we will not contact winners individually.
    • - As a rule, prizes to be sent by mail are dispatched only once.
    • - Prizes are scheduled to be sent from December 2023 onward, but this is subject to change due to factors such as manufacturing delays, etc.
    • - Please be aware that we may be unable to send prizes due to circumstances in some countries.
    • - Customs in your nation may require payment of customs duties or other taxes upon receiving prizes. Please be aware that the Organiser is unable to pay for customs duties when these are required. Please contact your local authorities regarding duty payments and related matters.
    • - In the event that prizes cannot be delivered due to factors attributable to the customer, such as a mistake in or unclear entry of your name, address, or phone number, the shipment may be canceled. The tournament Organiser is not liable in any way even if you are unable to receive your prize, except in cases of intentional acts or gross negligence by the Organiser.
    • - Prize deliveries are subject to extended delivery times due to factors impacting shipping such as the coronavirus or other international factors, as well as subject to interruption or cancellation of shipping by regulatory authorities. Please understand the Organiser is not liable in any way for issues involving shipping agencies.
    • - Only the individual is entitled to the prizes, and cannot transfer, sell, or lend this entitlement to third parties.
  • 10. Governing Laws and Jurisdiction

    • 1- All matters pertaining to this tournament and agreement are based on Japanese law and will be interpreted by Japanese law.
    • 2- All litigation and other disputes pertaining to this tournament and agreement are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court in the first instance.
  • 11. Exemption from Responsibility

    - The tournament may be cancelled or rescheduled due to game server trouble, natural events, or other extenuating circumstances. The Organiser will not be responsible for reimbursing costs incurred by the delay or cancellation of the Tournament, no matter the circumstances.

    - If the tournament is postponed, cancelled, interrupted, or held in a different format for any reason, the Organiser will not be responsible for supporting players.

    - Participation to the Tournament will be undertaken at the participant's own risk. Except for what was outlined in the TOT, any accidents, loss of valuables, burglary, or other trouble are solely the responsibility of the participant.

    - Unless specified in the TOT, fees for purchasing and distributing devices, internet connection and other expenses necessary for Participation will be the responsibility of applicants.

    If you do not receive the email sent to the address you entered on the form after passing the Online Qualifiers or any Final Regional Qualifier, or you do not reply to the message sent to your Discord account or make the prescribed contact within the specified time frame, your qualification to the Finals will be invalidated.
    - Please note that we cannot answer any individual questions regarding selection results or reasons for revocation.

  • 12. Changes to the Terms or the Tournament

    - The TOT and the Tournament details will be available on this site (https://www.tsubasa-dreamteam.com/dcs/en/) and are subject to change without prior notice or warning. By proceeding in the participation of the Tournament the participant agrees to revision of the TOT.
